2014 Gold Coast Sport Fishing Club Mangrove Jack Competition

The Gold Coast Sport fishing club is pleased to announce a one day “Jack” competition. This is a great opportunity to take on the Mighty Mangrove Jack and potentially take home the jack-pot!!!!!

NOW you can fish with 2 or 3 Team members

When: Sunday 23 March 2014

Where: VMR clubhouse on the Spit for the weigh in and lunch.

Time: First cast can be made at 5.15am and all teams are to be at the VMR by 12pm.

Entry Fee: $25 per angler (max of 2 per team) includes lunch. 100% payback to the prize pool.

Registration: Will take place at the Club house on Saturday 22 March 14  between 5.00 and 6.30pm. A sausage sizzle and briefing will also be conducted. Teams will be issued a key tag which must be handed in by 12pm at the VMR. Late penalties will apply.

Rules: Two or three members per team maximum. Your best 3 Mangrove Jack will be photographed with the key tag in the photo and presented to the Games Master. Overall length will win. Teams will need a brag mat and digital camera for this event. You can launch anywhere as long as you don’t start fishing prior to 5.15am (honesty based). The northern boundary will boundary will be a line extending from the mouth of the Brisbane east to the southern tip of Moreton Island and the south to the Nerang River. Boats are not permitted outside either the entrance of the Jumpinpin bar or the Seaway bar.

No fishing is to take place in any marina. You may fish the front edge, however cannot cast into the marina. No fishing in the Sanctuary Cove/Hope Island private canal systems

Only artificial lures or fly are to be used. No live bait. No berley is to be used and all fishing to be conducted within the boat.
