Gamesmaster report for June 2014

Hi all,

To ensure that everyone is kept in the loop with exactly what is going on with the club competitions etc, I have decided to publish all the items covered at the club night by the Gamesmasters.

Firstly, the Species of  the month for June will be:

Inshore – Best combined Flathead and Bream, overall length

Offshore – Best Snapper

The Fish of the month prize was won by Scott Gregory with an impressive Nannigai. Scott took away $150 in Doug Burt vouchers for his effort. Fish of the month pictures can be taken anywhere and are a great way of showing off your catch to other members and you just never know you may just take home a Dougy’s voucher for the effort. You must be in attendance to claim the prize. You can email pictures to [email protected] by 5pm the night of the club night or simply bring a copy along to the club night and present to the gamesmaster. All entries are shown to the club members who then vote, with the winner taking home the booty!

We are currently reviewing the annual points system not only to make it more competitive but also to encourage more members to participate. You can submit 5 fish per month, with no more than 3 of any one species. Send your pictures to [email protected] by 5pm on Club night or present them to either Brett Horner or myself. The fish should be photographed on a brag mat and include the token name provided. For all fish in July, please include “July 2014” in the photograph. You can also submit photo’s which have the date stamp clearly marked on the picture.

The updated system will be revealed at the next club night, which coincides with the Flathead Classic launch night and Top Gun Flathead auction.

The Top Gun Flathead preparations are coming along nicely. The event will be held on Sunday 10 August at the VMR. registration from 6am. fishing will be 7am til 2pm. The team (2 or 3 members) best 5 flathead photographed on a brag mat with the token (issued at registration) will win the event. I am waiting to confirm the final 4 anglers this week and once they are confirmed, their respective profiles will be published. More details to follow about this event, its certainly one of the blue ribbon events run by the club!

The Snapper classic unfortunately did not go ahead last weekend, so hopefully the wind gods will play fairly this week and allow the event to be held. A decision will be made on Thursday night and the website and facebook pages updated. We will utilise either Saturday or Sunday this weekend to try and get the event off the ground. Entries can be downloaded and sent to [email protected].

The champion anglers for the 13-14 financial year will be presented their prizes also at the next club night.

See you all at the next Club Night, which promises to be a fantastic night indeed!

Cheers

Craig
