Big Bump SnapperIt’s SNAPPER time

The inaugural Gold Coast Sport Fishing Club Snapper competition will be held in July. The competition is scheduled for Sunday 13 July 2014, however should the weather not be suitable then it will be held the following Sunday (20th). Teams will take pictures of their catch on a brag mat along with a tournament token. Dont’t forget to bring you camera and your brag mat .The best combined length for 3 Snapper will be the winner. The event will be run from the VMR base located next to Seaworld.

It is the ‘captains’ responsibility to ensure the boat has the necessary safety items and all boats will be checked to ensure they comply with the offshore safety requirements. More details will be posted soon, including the major sponsor, entry details etc.

When – 13th July (20th July also booked in case weather is no good on 13th)
Entry – $80 per team (2 or 3 man team)
Where – VMR Base Seaworld Drive
Start time – 5.00 am for vessel inspection of safety gear. 5.30 briefing then go.
Format: Fish caught by bait or lures welcome.Winner is determined by 3 biggest snapper per team (if count back is required, it will be on time caught). All legal fish scored 1 point per cm.Running score sheets per team. Special tournament token will be handed out at briefing  all snapper caught must be photographed on a brag mat with this token
Fishing open to everyone  including juniors.

What you need to bring: Digital camera & Brag Mat

Sponsors: Shads Lures, Marionics, Sporty’s Warehouse for biggest snapper, Gold Coast Fishing Tackle for Champion junior.

Great Random Draw Prizes: Just entering the comp, you are in the chance to win major prizes, you don’t have to win the comp to win prizes.

If anglers wish to keep their catch, they are welcome to but are asked to refrain from parading their catch around during weigh in.
If they are kept for the table, they must be of legal size and not to exceed the bag limit for Qld Fisheries. Undersize fish will score deduction of 10 points, all legal fish scored 1 point per cm.
