Welcome to the 2026 Simrad and Shimano Snapper Classic
Open to all anglers — male, female, and juniors — this event celebrates great fishing, good mates, and quality prizes.
All category prizes are quality Shimano rods and reels, with a Simrad 12 inch sounder available as the major random prize.
Event Schedule
Briefing: 6pm, Friday 14 August via the Gold Coast Sports Fishing Club facebook page. The official codeword will be announced during the briefing.
Fishing Times: 6am – 2pm, Sunday 16 August.
Online presentation: 6pm on Saturday on the Gold Coast Sports Fishing Club facebook page.
Boundaries & Launch Info
Fishing is permitted from the tip of North Stradbroke Island to the Queensland and New South Wales border.
Teams may launch from anywhere within the competition boundaries, but no lines may be in the water before 6 am.
Competition Rules
Teams must measure and photograph their three biggest snapper.
All fish must be photographed on an official Liquor Legends brag mat with the event codeword clearly visible. If possible, please also send a picture of you and your fish so we can use them on socials and at the club night.
The codeword will be provided during the online briefing.
All fish must be measured to the fork.
Post all competition photos to the Gold Coast Sports Fishing Club Community Group.
Please text the lengths of your three biggest snapper to Games Master Jason Swain at 0414 535 792 for verification by 2:30 pm.
Competitors who do not have an official Liquor Legends brag mat must contact Jason before the event to organise one.
Bait can be collected prior to start time.
Registration closes 5pm Friday

Entrants must be present at the Club Night to win.
Team details
Teams must include two or three anglers.
Teams may include senior and junior anglers, as well as members and non-members.
Entry fees
Senior member: $95
Senior non-member: $105
Junior member: $50
Junior non-member: $60
Entry fees apply to each individual angler.
There are two steps to submitting your entry.
Nominate your anglers and pay their entry fee.
Complete the team registration form.
Step 1 - Nominate your anglers - add to cart and then return to nominate others or complete your entry form. Checkout at the end.
Step 2- Complete your team entry form
If you have done both steps correctly - you will have added all of your anglers and the team entry form to the cart. Then click on the cart/shopping trolley icon at the top right hand corner to make your payment and finalise your entry.
