A Big Year for GCSFC – And an Even Bigger One Ahead
As we head into our Christmas Club Night and wrap up 2025, it’s hard not to pause and appreciate just how far we’ve come together this year.
From our monthly club nights, to the kids’ clinic, to another Flathead Classic, the one thing that keeps showing up time and time again is our community. The people. Our members. The volunteers. The families. The juniors. The lifelong anglers. The new faces who walk in for the first time and leave feeling part of something bigger.
This year felt like a turning point — one where the club really found its stride.
We’ve seen:
stronger attendance at club nights
more juniors getting involved
a lift in member engagement
better systems behind the scenes
and a community that genuinely shows up for each other
And of course, The Flathead Classic continues to grow into one of Australia’s most loved fishing events.
This year we introduced new partners, sharpened our marketing, and streamlined some major processes. It’s been incredible to watch the tournament evolve into something that not only celebrates fishing, but celebrates the culture, mateship, and spirit of the Gold Coast.
Looking to 2026 – Big Announcements Coming
The committee has been working hard behind the scenes, and 2026 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting years yet. We’ve got:
new developments for the Flathead Classic
member-focused improvements to create more value and better experiences
stronger systems to support bigger events and smoother operations
and some fresh opportunities that will take the club into a new chapter
There’s a real sense of momentum and unity right now — and that’s because of you. Our members. The people who show up, volunteer, fish, help, support, and keep the club moving forward.

As we come together for our Christmas Club Night, it’s the perfect chance to share a drink, have a laugh, celebrate the wins, and look ahead to everything we’re building for the future.
From prawns and BBQ Mafia, to raffles, Santa, and the Members Draw — it’s going to be a night that reminds us exactly why this club is so special.
