Get ready for an epic day on the water as the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club brings to the community this June – the Atomic Bream Tournament! Whether you're a seasoned angler or a keen junior, this is your chance to reel in glory and win fantastic prizes.


Gold Coast Sportfishing Clubhouse
Saturday, 7th June 2025
Fishing Time: 6:30am – 1:00pm

Event Schedule

  • 6:15am – All boats to meet at the boat ramp near the clubhouse for briefing, rule review & livewell inspections

  • 6:30am – 1:00pm – Lines in! Tournament fishing begins

  • Photos must be submitted by 1:15pm on the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club FACEBOOK Community Page.

  • From 1:00pm – Return to Clubhouse for Presentation, Sausage Sizzle & a Cold Drink!

Boundaries

Fishing is permitted between the Nerang River Highway Bridge and the Power Lines on Russell Island.
Fishing outside these boundaries = instant disqualification if proven.

Team & Entry Info

  • Teams of 2 or 3 anglers

  • Mixed teams welcome – Male, Female, Juniors (under 16)

  • Entry Fees:

    • $90 – Senior Member

    • $100 – Senior Non-Member

    • $50 – Junior

    • $60 - Junior Non-Member

Prizes & Awards - Total length best 5 Bream measured to the fork

  • 1st Place – Cash + Prizes

  • 2nd Place – Cash + Prizes

  • 3rd Place – Cash + Prizes

  • Biggest Bream (Senior) – $100 Sporty’s Fishing Voucher

  • Biggest Bream (Junior) – Prize Pack

  • Random Draw – Prize Pack

  • Top Member Team – Cash Prize (all team members must be current club members)

Photo Submissions

Catch a Bream or Tarwhine of any size and submit it!
All fish must be measured to the fork of the tail and photos submitted via the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club FACEBOOK Community Page by 1:15pm.

Important Rules Recap

  • PFDs must be worn when underway

  • Lure casting or fly casting ONLY – No bait, berley or trolling

  • One rod in use per angler at all times

  • No fishing in marinas, private or no-fishing zones

  • Follow all maritime safety and speed zone rules

  • Keep it courteous – respect your fellow anglers

  • Rule disputes must be raised with the Gamesmaster immediately after the tournament.

Have questions? Please speak with our friendly Committee officials before kick-off.
The Club reserves the right to refuse entry based on past conduct at previous events.
